My Take - by Lois A. Linton
I’m not a coach, or sportswriter, just a Football Fanatic who loves the game. So after attending the first pre-season game,
then watching it again and again on tape, here’s “My Take.” The most important thing about the first pre-season game is not
whether we won or lost, but how Our Man Sam kept his cool, maintained his poise, didn’t wilt under pressure, made good
decisions, and stayed healthy, without making the common rookie mistakes. Additionally, we identified our strengths and
weaknesses and know what still needs work. I’m sure the coaches were able to pinpoint some guys to keep, and cut, and all
of this against one of the better teams in the NFL, the Minnesota Vikings. Overall this proved to be a valuable learning
experience to make our Rams team better. And lest we forget, that’s what pre-season is all about – not if you win or lose,
but how you play the game. That’s “My Take.”
Editor’s note: I wonder what Lois is thinking about “Our Man Sam” now??!!
